Great news though that the park is expanded. I didn't realize the gay bars mentioned were actually in Ansley Mall rather than nearby. Is that a reason to save it from eventual redevelopment.not in my opinion, but there will be strong feelings on it for many. With all of the changes in midtown, this is a sliver of consistency I suppose.
The reason it works is the back and forth traffic between them because they are located in the same area. That being said, there is a symbiotic relationship that exists among those bars and if they were to be scattered among the city, not all would survive. As stated previously, there are 5 bars all located there and that is the only place in the state where that exists. Well for the gay community it has been a pretty huge part of life for many. What am I missing? Just seemed like a good strip mall, but nothing amazing. Would run into CVS, maybe occasional purchase from cooks warehouse (now in a strip mall near me in East Cobb) or intaglia, or hit publix (preferred publix on ponce) or Kroger.
I lived near it for a few years and shopped there, it seemed like a good strip mall. I don't get the love for Ansley Mall / 'iconic'.
